Moped + Fingers = Mishap.

Dear friends, Yesterday I cut almost an inch off my ring and middle finger on my right hand with a ZA50 Puch drive chain. It broke my bones in half and severed my finger tips. The tips couldn't be reattached and I had surgery to close everything up. It's going to take a couple weeks to recover so sorry if don't text you or message you back. If you see me and my 2 fingers are shorter you know what happened. We were listening to Bad Brains pretty loud when this happened. Look out for those big front sprockets on ZA50s! Mopeds still rule and life still sucks.

Mid MO-town Classic IV: Mid MO-Peds Stay Wet!

Last weekend I headed to Columbia Missouri for the annual Mid-Mo rally. This was my 4th year venturing to this rally. I took megabus which was per usual a total shit show. The bus started leaking oil and had to head back to STL on the way to Como. Luckily my STL moped homies BETH and PHIL were headed to Como around the time I got back to STL on the megabus. Beth scooped me from the haggard truck stop we got taken to....well actually it wasnt that bad because the truck stop had a Taco Bell and Terminator 3 game. Got to Como and got weird with my Midwest (the real Midwest) friends. They had an 80 ft slipnslide! Great rides, great people and great Missouri moped laws. That's one reason I really enjoy Missouri rallies, you dont need tags or a license to ride a moped. You only need a helmet.... Sounds easy right? I thought it was too until I got straight arrested in the middle of the KC rally last year for not wearing one. Me - Yea I didnt know officer, I'm from Kansas! Officer - Actually you have a warrant for not wearing a helmet 2 years ago on this SAME STREET! Its ok I got bailed by the chica I had cupcaked on my Derbi and rejoined the ride 20 mins later. BACK TO THE COMO RALLY! It was awesome! Always is! Everyone go next year! Epic country blasting and good friends for life. Good seeing - MIDMO, STL survivors, Holy Rollers, Linda Green, ROB and the Illinois homies + everyone else.

 It's a Derbi PARTY

New Chicago MOPED Shop.

Our dear friend Will Andrews from Hot-N-Readyz is opening up a new Moped Shop in Chicago. It will offer sales and a full service shop. The shop is simply called MOPED and is located at 2068 N Western Ave  (GOOD SPOT). The website is http://enjoymoped.com/ and is pretty simple. He is shooting on opening next week so if you are in the Chi area keep your ears open and stop by and check it out. Will has an eye for design and architecture and the shop directly reflects that.  For the people who dont have the "I fix everything on my own mopeds even if they dont run for six months" attitude, this is your shop. Will has been working on bikes and taking customers in for years and is very dedicated. He will be carrying Tomos mopeds for all the people who like simple user friendly mopeds, along with some Vintage mopeds. I'm excited for this. (Thx Marla for the first couple photos)

 Various framed Moped Crew/Rally shirts.

Pin from the shop.

Derbi Laguna HPI fun fun.

So Put a HPI Ignition on my PP Derbi Laguna today. Im excited to increase the reliability and performance after having issues with my stock ignition. I still need to put the lighting coil on and get the correct bulbs for it. I slapped this dude on in 10 mins and its ripping. Also I added a 18mm Mikuni Carb (running 70 jet with no air filter) for a 50cc race I was in 2 weeks ago at the Motion Left Rally (The race was hilarious!). Look at that Donger intake I made out of a stock Puch pipe. I'm thinking about going back to the Dellorto 14:12 though because I'm not sure I need an 18mm carb on my stock cylinder, who knows! ALSO Been travelling a ton! Went to the Motion Left Rally "Slow Motion" and had a blast. I was in a 60 mile 50cc race with 2 other people. Ultimately noone really won because we all got lost. But we had a ton of fun at the camp site ramping (and breaking...TRAVIS) mopeds, I got Chad Burkes Derbi SL stuck in 8 foot cattails. I recently went home and bought a 20 dollar white 1977 Puch Maxi that I'm excited to make BONE stock and ride around looking stupid on. Pumped on life.
 Looking better.

SHAWTYYYY!
HPI instructions if you dont already have them. Super easy to follow and the Derbi PP and PR engines both use the left diagram, set it and forget it.
 Self idiot photo.
